i Cellisti!

Please join us for our popular annual cello ensemble extravaganza and fundraiser—i Cellisti! This year’s program features cellist Khari Joyner, who recently arrived in NE Ohio as the cello professor at Baldwin- Wallace University. A composer as well, Khari will perform his composition, PetrolMusic, for solo cello.

In addition, his Baldwin-Wallace students will join him in works for cello ensemble. The concert will also include cello ensemble performances by cello studios of Richard Weiss at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Bryan Dumm and Ida Mercer at Case Western Reserve University, Brian Snow at Bowling Green State University, Khari Joyner at Baldwin-Wallace University, Mingyao Zhao at Wooster College, and the private studio of Pamela Kelly.

The grand finale of the evening will be presented by a side-by-side ensemble specially created for this event, comprised of a mix of some of Cleveland’s finest professional cellists (members of The Cleveland Orchestra and area teachers), students, and amateurs, performing Suite by baroque composer, David Funck, and DMO, a jazz-influenced work for cello ensemble by Shirl Jae Atwell.

This truly unique concert is not to be missed. And remember, all proceeds from ticket sales provide the funds for the CCS Scholarships.
